About Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway is an American actress, born Anne Jacqueline Hathaway on 12 November 1982 in Brooklyn. She graduated from Millburn High School in New Jersey, where she acted in several plays. As a teenager she was cast in the television series Get Real, which ran from 1999 to 2000.

Hathaway made her breakthrough as the protagonist of her debut film, the Disney comedy The Princess Diaries, in 2001. She moved to adult roles with Havoc and Brokeback Mountain in 2005, and The Devil Wears Prada in 2006 was her biggest commercial success to that point. She earned an Academy Award nomination for Rachel Getting Married and won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for playing Fantine in Les Misérables.
