About David Schwimmer

David Schwimmer is an American actor, director and producer, born on 2 November 1966 in Flushing. He began acting in school plays at Immanuel College Prep in Bushey, England, and then at Beverly Hills High School. He graduated from Northwestern University in 1988 with a degree in theater and speech, and co-founded the Lookingglass Theatre Company in Chicago.

Schwimmer moved back to Los Angeles, debuting in the television film A Deadly Silence in 1989. He gained worldwide recognition as Ross Geller in the sitcom Friends from 1994 to 2004, receiving a Screen Actors Guild Award. He also appeared in the miniseries Band of Brothers, voiced Melman the giraffe in the Madagascar films, and made his feature film directorial debut with Run Fatboy Run in 2007.
