About Hugh Grant

Hugh Grant is an English actor, born on 9 September 1960 in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. He established himself early in his career as a charming and vulnerable romantic leading man, and has since transitioned into a character actor. He has received a British Academy Film Award and a Golden Globe Award, and was given an Honorary César in 2006.

Grant made his feature film acting debut in Privileged in 1982, followed by Maurice in 1987, for which he won the Volpi Cup for Best Actor. He then acted in period dramas such as The Remains of the Day. He emerged as a star with Four Weddings and a Funeral in 1994, winning the Golden Globe and BAFTA Award for Best Actor, and later starred in Notting Hill and Love Actually.
