About Jason Segel

Jason Segel, full name Jason Jordan Segel, is an American actor, comedian, screenwriter and producer, born on 18 January 1980 in Los Angeles. He began his career with director and producer Judd Apatow on the television series Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared, before gaining prominence for leading roles in comedy films that he has also written and produced.

Segel is best known as Marshall Eriksen in the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother, from 2005 to 2014. His films include Knocked Up, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, I Love You, Man, The Muppets and Sex Tape. He was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead for playing David Foster Wallace in The End of the Tour. Since 2023 he has starred as the therapist Jimmy Laird in Shrinking, which he co-created.
