About Kim Soo-hyun

Kim Soo-hyun is a South Korean actor, born on 16 February 1988 in Seoul. He has received five Baeksang Arts Awards, two Grand Bell Awards and one Blue Dragon Film Award. He made his television debut in 2007 with the family sitcom Kimchi Cheese Smile, following a few theatrical performances.

Kim went on to star in the television dramas Dream High in 2011 and Moon Embracing the Sun in 2012, as well as the top-grossing films The Thieves in 2012 and Secretly, Greatly in 2013. He became a top hallyu star with the fantasy series My Love from the Star, which aired from 2013 to 2014, and then appeared in The Producers in 2015. He enlisted in mandatory military service in October 2017 and returned to acting with It's Okay to Not Be Okay in 2020. He later starred in One Ordinary Day in 2021 and Queen of Tears in 2024, and was named Gallup Korea's Television Actor of the Year in 2014.
