About Chet Holmgren

Chet Holmgren is an American professional basketball player for the Oklahoma City Thunder of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born on 1 May 2002 in Minneapolis. A consensus five-star recruit and the top-ranked player of the 2021 class, he played college basketball for the Gonzaga Bulldogs.

The Thunder drafted Holmgren second overall in the 2022 NBA draft. He missed the 2022 to 2023 season because of an offseason injury, then returned to earn NBA All-Rookie First Team honors in 2024. In his second season his team won the 2025 NBA Finals, and he was selected as an All-Star for the first time in 2026.
