About Charles Leclerc

Charles Leclerc is a Monégasque racing driver who competes in Formula One for Ferrari. He was born on 16 October 1997 in Monte Carlo, where he was also raised. He began competitive kart racing at the age of seven and won the junior World Cup in 2011 before moving up to junior formulae.

Leclerc won the GP3 Series with ART in 2016 and the inaugural FIA Formula 2 Championship with Prema in 2017. He made his Formula One debut with Sauber in 2018 and joined Ferrari for 2019, when he took his maiden win in Belgium and won the Italian Grand Prix. He finished runner-up to Max Verstappen in the 2022 World Drivers' Championship, and has won nine Grands Prix across nine seasons. He won the Monaco Grand Prix in 2024.
