About Katherine Langford

Katherine Langford is an Australian actress, born on 29 April 1996 in Perth, Western Australia. She was raised in Applecross, a riverside suburb of Perth, and is the eldest daughter of a paediatrician and a flying doctor. Her younger sister, Josephine Langford, is also an actress.

Langford began voice lessons in 2005 and received classical, jazz and contemporary vocal training. She studied music and drama at Perth Modern School, where she was sports captain and a nationally ranked swimmer. After appearing in several independent films, she had her breakthrough starring as Hannah Baker in the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why from 2017 to 2018, which earned her a Golden Globe Award nomination. She then appeared in the films Love, Simon in 2018 and Knives Out in 2019, and headlined the dark comedy Spontaneous and the Netflix series Cursed in 2020.
