About Asmir Begović

Asmir Begović is a Bosnian professional footballer who most recently played as a goalkeeper for EFL League One club Leicester City, born on 20 June 1987 in Trebinje. He started his senior career at Portsmouth, signing in the summer of 2003, made his Premier League debut in May 2009 and was sold to Stoke City in February 2010.

In November 2013 Begović became the fifth goalkeeper to score in the Premier League, scoring against Southampton after 13 seconds. He joined Chelsea in July 2015 and later moved to AFC Bournemouth. He later played for Everton, Queens Park Rangers and Leicester City. He represented Canada at the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup, then chose to play for Bosnia and Herzegovina and helped them qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
