About Dávinson Sánchez

Dávinson Sánchez, whose full name is Davinson Sánchez Mina, is a Colombian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for the Süper Lig club Galatasaray and the Colombia national football team. He was born on 12 June 1996 in Caloto.

Sánchez came through the youth system of Atlético Nacional, winning two Categoría Primera A titles and the 2016 Copa Libertadores. He moved to Ajax in 2016 and, in his only full season in the Netherlands, was named the club's Player of the Year and started the 2017 UEFA Europa League final. He joined Tottenham Hotspur in August 2017 for a then club-record fee and made 207 appearances in six seasons, including the run to the 2019 UEFA Champions League final. Since joining Galatasaray in 2023 he has won three consecutive Süper Lig titles, the 2024 to 2025 Turkish Cup and the 2023 Turkish Super Cup.

Sánchez is listed at 188 cm (6'2"). He made his senior Colombia debut in 2016, played at the FIFA World Cup in 2018 and 2026, and finished as runner-up at the 2024 Copa América, when he was named in the Team of the Tournament.
