About Gustavo Gómez

Gustavo Gómez, full name Gustavo Raúl Gómez Portillo, is a Paraguayan professional footballer who plays as a centre-back. He was born on 6 May 1993 in San Juan Bautista and captains both Palmeiras and the Paraguay national team.

Gómez began his playing career at Libertad and left in the summer of 2014 for Lanús in the Argentine Primera División, where the club won the 2016 league title. He joined AC Milan on 5 August 2016 and became the first Paraguayan to play for the club, making his full debut against Napoli in Serie A on 27 August 2016. On 2 August 2018 he moved to Palmeiras on loan.
