About Pep Guardiola

Pep Guardiola, whose full name is Josep Guardiola Sala, is a Catalan football manager and former player from Spain, born on 18 January 1971 in Santpedor. He is the global ambassador of the City Football Group and was most recently manager of Premier League club Manchester City.

As a defensive midfielder in a deep-lying playmaker's role, Guardiola spent most of his career with Barcelona, part of the Dream Team that won the club's first European Cup in 1992, and captained the side from 1997 to 2001. He then played for Brescia, Roma, Al-Ahli and Dorados. He was capped 47 times by Spain and appeared at the 1994 World Cup and UEFA Euro 2000. As a manager he took charge of Barcelona's first team in 2008 and won the treble in his first season, then joined Bayern Munich in 2013 and Manchester City in 2016, winning six Premier League titles there.
