About Rafael Leão

Rafael Leão is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a left winger. He was born on 10 June 1999 in Almada and is known for his dribbling and speed. He came through the Sporting CP youth system and won the 2016 European Championship with Portugal under-17.

Leão made his first-team debut for Sporting CP in 2018, winning the 2017 to 2018 Taça da Liga, and then joined Lille on a free transfer. After one season there, AC Milan signed him in August 2019. He won the 2021 to 2022 Serie A there and was named its Most Valuable Player. In 2026, after seven seasons at Milan, he joined Galatasaray in Turkey. He made his senior international debut for Portugal in 2021, played at the 2022 and 2026 FIFA World Cups and UEFA Euro 2024, and won the UEFA Nations League in 2025.
