About Mercedes Moné

Mercedes Moné is an American professional wrestler, born Mercedes Justine Kaestner Varnado on 26 January 1992 in Fairfield. As of January 2024 she is signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), and she also appears for AEW's partners CMLL and NJPW as well as on the independent circuit. She began her wrestling career in 2010 on the independent circuit, most notably for Chaotic Wrestling.

Varnado rose to prominence in WWE from 2012 to 2022, performing as Sasha Banks. She won the NXT Women's Championship, and her October 2015 match against Bayley was the first women's match to headline an NXT TakeOver and the first iron woman match in WWE history. On the main roster she won the WWE Raw Women's Championship five times. In 2016 she and Charlotte Flair became the first women to headline a WWE pay-per-view and compete in a Hell in a Cell match. In 2020 she won the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship.
