About Claudia Schiffer

Claudia Schiffer is a German model and actress, born Claudia Maria Schiffer on 25 August 1970 in Rheinberg. She initially aspired to join the legal profession, but at 17 she was discovered in a Düsseldorf nightclub by Michel Levaton, the CEO of Metropolitan Models. This led her to Paris and onto the cover of Elle, and she rose to fame in the 1990s as a supermodel.

Her breakthrough came with Guess campaigns in 1989, and in 1990 she became the new face of Chanel, walking in Karl Lagerfeld's show. She has appeared on over 1,000 magazine covers, including Elle, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Cosmopolitan and Time, and holds a Guinness World Records entry for the most covers. Her endorsements include Chanel, Versace and Mango, and she launched a cashmere collection in 2011.
