About Rosalia

Rosalia, born Rosalía Vila Tobella, is a Spanish singer-songwriter and actress. She was born on 25 September 1992 in Sant Esteve Sesrovires. She has been described as an atypical pop star because of her genre-bending style. After becoming enthralled by Spanish folk music at age 14, she studied musicology at the Catalonia College of Music and graduated in 2017.

Her debut album, a collaborative cover album with Raül Refree called Los Ángeles, came out in 2017. Her second album, El mal querer, followed in 2018, reimagining flamenco by mixing it with pop and hip-hop and producing the singles Malamente and Pienso en tu mirá. It won the Latin Grammy Award for Album of the Year and is listed in Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. She explored urbano music with Con altura and Yo x ti, tú x mí in 2019, then gave reggaeton an experimental twist on Motomami in 2022, with singles La Fama, Saoko and Despechá.
