About Linda McMahon

Linda McMahon is an American administrator and business executive, born Linda Marie Edwards on 4 October 1948 in New Bern. She is a member of the Republican Party. With her husband, Vince McMahon, she founded the sports entertainment company Titan Sports, later World Wrestling Entertainment.

McMahon worked at WWE as president and later chief executive officer from 1980 to 2009, during which the company grew from a regional business in the northeast into a large multinational corporation. She initiated its civic programs, Get R.E.A.L. and SmackDown! Your Vote. In 2009 she left WWE to run for the United States Senate from Connecticut, losing the 2010 race to Richard Blumenthal and the 2012 race to Chris Murphy. President-elect Donald Trump nominated her to lead the Small Business Administration in December 2016.
