About Isiah Thomas

Isiah Lord Thomas III, also known as Zeke, is an American former professional basketball player who is now an analyst for NBA TV and Fox Sports. He was born on 30 April 1961 in Chicago. He played college basketball for the Indiana Hoosiers and led them to the 1981 NCAA championship as a sophomore before declaring for the NBA draft.

The Detroit Pistons took Thomas second overall in the 1981 NBA draft, and he played his entire professional career for them. He led the team known as the Bad Boys to the 1988 to 1989 and 1989 to 1990 NBA championships. He was a two-time NBA champion, an NBA Finals MVP, a five-time All-NBA Team member, a 12-time NBA All-Star with two All-Star Game MVP awards and the 1985 NBA assist leader. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2000.

At a listed 185 cm (6'1"), Thomas moved into coaching and management after his playing career. From 2000 to 2012 he coached the Indiana Pacers, New York Knicks and FIU, and he was president and part owner of the New York Liberty from 2015 to 2019.
