About Daniel Schmidt

Daniel Schmidt is a professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper. He was born on 3 February 1992 in Springfield in the United States, to a German American father and a Japanese mother, and moved with his family to Sendai, Japan at the age of two.

Schmidt attended Chuo University and played three seasons for Kawasaki Frontale as a Designated Special Player while there. He turned professional in 2013 with Vegalta Sendai, and was loaned to Roasso Kumamoto and Matsumoto Yamaga. He joined Belgian side Sint-Truiden in 2019 and signed for Gent in December 2023.
