About Giovanni Reyna

Giovanni Alejandro Reyna is an American professional soccer player who plays as an attacking midfielder for the United States national team. He was born on 13 November 2002 in Sunderland, to U.S. national team players Claudio Reyna and Danielle Reyna. He began his youth career with New York City FC and had his breakthrough with Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund.

During the 2019 to 2020 DFB-Pokal he became the youngest scorer in the German Cup's history at the age of 17, and he was part of the team that won the 2020 to 2021 DFB-Pokal. In 2020 he became the youngest Bundesliga player to create a hat trick of assists, and he was on the final shortlist for the 2021 Kopa Trophy. Reyna has played for Strasbourg and moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach in August 2025.

At a listed 185 cm (6'1"), Reyna made his senior debut for the United States in November 2020. He won the CONCACAF Nations League in 2021, 2023 and 2024, and was named best player overall of the 2024 tournament. He won a U.S. Soccer Young Male Player of the Year award in 2020.
