About Sheryl Sandberg

Sheryl Sandberg is an American technology executive, philanthropist and writer, born on 28 August 1969 in Washington, D.C. Her full name is Sheryl Kara Sandberg. She graduated from Harvard University and later served as a research assistant to Lawrence Summers at the World Bank, and then as his chief of staff when he became Bill Clinton's United States Secretary of the Treasury.

Before joining Facebook, Sandberg was vice president of global online sales and operations at Google and was involved in its philanthropic arm Google.org. She was chief operating officer of Meta Platforms from 2008 to 2022. She is the first woman elected to Facebook's board of directors, and as head of the advertising business she has been credited with making the company profitable.
