About Karolína Kurková

Karolína Kurková is a Czech model, born on 28 February 1984 in Pardubice, Czechoslovakia. Her father, Josef Kurka, is a Czech basketball player, and her mother is Slovak. She was teased about her height when she was young, but at 15 a friend sent photos of her to an agency in Prague, and she landed a runway appearance and commercial and print work.

Kurková later traveled to Milan to gain experience and signed a modeling contract with Miuccia Prada. In September 1999 she appeared in American Vogue. She became a Victoria's Secret Angel and a Vogue cover star, and Vogue editor Anna Wintour called her the next supermodel. In 2007 she was among the top-earning models in the world and placed 6th on the Forbes list.
