About Aygün Kazimova

Aygün Kazimova is an Azerbaijani singer, songwriter, pop musician and actress who works in Azerbaijan, Turkey and Russia. She was born on 26 January 1971 in Baku, the youngest of four children. After high school she briefly studied at the Maarif Technicum of Arts, which she left in 1986, and performed with the Gaya youth band.

She began her solo career in 1988 after winning first prize at the Baki Payizi-88 music contest, and she won an award at the Yurmala competition in 1989. She released her first album, Sevgi Gulleri, in 1997 and was named Honored Artist of Azerbaijan in 2001. She wrote and sang the anthem of the 2012 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, and her duet with Snoop Dogg, Coffee from Colombia, reached number one on charts in Azerbaijan, Turkey, Russia and other countries.
