About Sirusho

Sirusho, full name Siranush Hrachyayi Harutyunyan, is an Armenian singer and songwriter. She was born on 7 January 1987 in Yerevan. She received her first award at the age of nine for her song Lusabats.

Her first studio album, Sirusho, was released in 2000, followed by Sheram in 2005, the year she won the Future of Armenian Music, Best Album and Best Female Performer awards at the first Armenian National Music Awards. She gained international recognition by representing Armenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 in Belgrade with her co-written song Qélé, Qélé, which finished fourth in the final. In 2012 she released the single PreGomesh, which inspired a range of handcrafted silver jewelry, and she became the first Armenian artist twice nominated at the World Music Awards. In 2017 she was named Honored Artist of Armenia. Her style mixes Armenian traditional sounds with modern music.
