About Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis is an American professional basketball player for the Washington Wizards of the National Basketball Association (NBA), born on 11 March 1993 in Chicago. He is nicknamed AD and the Brow. He played one season of college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats, where he was first team All-American and Consensus National Player of the Year, and led the NCAA in blocks.

Davis led Kentucky to a national championship in 2012 and was named the tournament's most outstanding player. The New Orleans Hornets drafted him first overall in 2012. He was named MVP of the 2017 NBA All-Star Game, and he was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2019, where he won an NBA championship in 2020. In 2025 he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Luka Doncic, and a year later to the Wizards. He has won gold medals with the United States national team at the 2012 Olympics, the 2014 World Cup and the 2024 Olympics.
