About Zozibini Tunzi

Zozibini Tunzi is a South African model, actress and beauty pageant titleholder, born on 18 September 1993 in Tsolo, Eastern Cape. She was raised in the nearby village of Sidwadweni by her mother, a school principal, and her father, who worked for the department of higher education. She is one of four sisters, and her first name is of Xhosa origin and means received with both hands.

Tunzi moved to Cape Town to attend Cape Peninsula University of Technology, and she graduated with a National Diploma in public relations management in 2018. In 2017 she worked as a model and lived in East London, Eastern Cape. She was crowned Miss South Africa 2019 and later Miss Universe 2019.

At a listed 178 cm (5'10"), Tunzi is the third woman from South Africa and the first black South African woman to win the Miss Universe title. Her married name is Bolowana.
