About Lamar Odom
Lamar Odom is an American former professional basketball player, born on 6 November 1979 in Queens. In high school he received national player of the year honors from Parade in 1997. He played college basketball for the University of Rhode Island, earning all-conference honors during his only season in the Atlantic 10 Conference before turning professional.
The Los Angeles Clippers selected Odom with the fourth overall pick in the 1999 NBA draft, and he was named to the NBA All-Rookie Team the following year. He later played for the Miami Heat and then spent seven seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, winning back-to-back championships in 2009 and 2010 and the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award in 2011. He played for four teams in a 14-year NBA career. With the United States national team he won a bronze medal at the 2004 Olympics and a gold medal at the 2010 FIBA World Championship.
